For me, my interest in clans sparked when I saw clans fighting in the Wilderness in late 2005. I looked at fansites such as Tip.it and Zybez (during the end of the age of Tip.it from Scapeboard) and saw war topics of large clans with a tremendous amount of organization, and it had me wondering: how can clans be that organized? I had no idea about voice software at the time.

I decided that I would start my own clan. I did have interest in large clans at that time (DI was #1 for instance), but I didn't fit the requirements. So, where would a level 83 fit in the clan world? I thought, well, how about I create my own clan? I did. I called it Army of Zamorak. Why? I seemed to prefer that Runescape god over the others. Keep in mind, this is the thinking process of a 13 year old, so I wouldn't suggest thinking that far into it. As you can imagine, it died. I didn't receive one application after 3 days, so I decided to join a clan instead. This was probably a better decision. So, I decided to post a Looking for a clan topic on Tip.it's clan boards. I received the usual good lucks and all that, but one clan caught my eye.

That clan was *-P.K.Masters-*, spelled exactly like that with the hyphens and asterisks intact. I registered on their boards and they had a very unique clan policy. First of all, they did not have applications sent the regular way: you had to send a strict application directly to the leader for approval. Once they approve of it and that everything is satisfactory, they will request an interview with you and you will be asked several questions before you are welcomed into the clan. Little did I know I would be doing the same interviews with many others after that.

So, this was my first clan. It was great. We held regular PK Trips and even had two real wars in the Wilderness. Now, I should probably explain more. This clan had little more than 20 people, maxing 15 people to a PK Trip. So, when I refer to a PK Trip, I really mean we travel around the Wilderness in search of randomers. And we actually did find many. These were the days that the Wilderness was rich with solo PKers instead of solo merchanters camping the GE for a quick mil.

An example of one of those PK Trips above. As shown by the title, each event had a theme. Now, it wasn't restricted to just PK Trips. There were also fun events like snowball fights at 39 altar and events with the TCE (Tip.it Clan Events) team in the past. There were even departments ran by members who oversaw various areas of the clan. After a while, more staff was needed to maintain activity and members (they just couldn't be handled through departments anymore), so elections were held to elect their high council. In a final vote, it came to me and another member. Eventually this member was demoted after hacking several clan bank accounts. In a nutshell, these banks were held throughout various areas in the Wilderness. They contained pizzas, adamant armour and extra supplies for us on the go. This way, we don't end up being forced to bank during our PK Trips. It was an ingenious idea at the time, until they were hacked of course. They did not contain much, as our minimum PK uniform was adamant armour with rune armour; we didn't dare wear green dragonhide because it was reminiscent of NI at the time (the leader ensured that our clan was strictly honour).

After about a year of being high council, what was realized is that a Leader was something the clan needed. The main leader, being away from time to time, needed someone to take their place should a rather long absence take over. Who would that be? Well, two members were nominated and were them decided upon after weeks of deliberation. It eventually came down to one member. This member was a troublemaker from the start, often flaming members, but they seemed right for the job as they were among the oldest of the clan. As time wore on, they grew tired of leading a small clan that pulled 12 to PK Trips and decided to leave to join TDM. Two were nominated again, and it eventually came down to the same two people who were nominated; me and another member.

Time passed and soon Runescape started to age, and what really killed this clan is when the Wilderness was removed. As less demand was made, there was an almost immediate plunge in the member base. The replacement being CWA and BH, the latter was not very useful for small clans such as mine at the time. So, CWA was the only real option. At this time however, we realized how many people it drained. Pulls started to drop to 5-7 people; that's a 50% reduction compared to pre-Wilderness removal. As a year passed, it eventually became clear that we couldn't really compete, but instead of closing the clan, the main leader decided to put it on hiatus.

Eventually, Jagex introduced PvP worlds in a behind the scenes announcement. This raised a stir in the clan world and in the hearts of those who were in the clan. Because of this, the clan was reopened fully in the hopes that more would join. It was shortlived however when the update did come as the pulls eventually dropped to a point where only 4 people came to an event. This reached the point where I realized it was time to leave.

I didn't want to waste my clan years in a small clan that was dying, so I decided to join a top clan. I was recruited by a good friend of mine, Y Guy 4 Life, into Shadow Elves. At first, I was doubtful because of the threat of losing rune sets. Then, I realized how I had accumulated a decent amount of wealth over the years and gave it a shot. So, I nervously post an introduction. Due to the nature of the application process, I am required to wait 24 hours before applying for future elf. So, I did. At this time, I was invited to join in a PK that they were having not too long after I posted my introduction. This is when I finally had my glance at the real clan world that was shrouded by my narrow views of the smaller clan world. I don't even think we had a fight because when we hit a clan, they quickly left. The purpose was to hunt TR if I remember correctly. However, it doesn't matter because at this point I realized where I wanted to go; SE. There were a few doubters such as Beyblade who said that I probably wouldn't make it in a top clan (I was a member of TKO Blitz - where I learned how to tank - I became a shit tank after though. I was eventually kicked for inactivity).

A day later, I applied for future elf as soon as I could to the hour. I remember coming back every hour or so to read the comments and to check on the status of my application. Eventually I met my mentors and found that my application was under discussion (all applications are discussed first by the mentors before being accepted). Then, with a sigh of relief I was accepted.

Joining #elves for the first time was overwhelming. I remember being spammed with PMs and being highlighted a million times (I sometimes curse myself for asking them how to set highlight notifications...) The PK Trips were fun and they really had a sense of community in them, despite the size of the clan. That's what I liked about being in SE.

Then, all good things must come to an end, and after 3 months of being in Shadow Elves, they closed. This, being 3 years ago, I actually was depressed for two days after it closed. I was just starting Grade 9 that year, and I suppose I held onto them like some sort of big brother to ask should I need something. I introed to TT and Exodus. Then, I decided at that point in time to not join another clan again.

This was not the case, however, as I finally decided that I shouldn't end clanning just yet. I finally settled on Divine Forces since I knew a few SE members who joined and we were on fairly good terms with them before we closed. I then introed. My first PK Trip didn't really have the same effect as it did with SE. Maybe it was mostly because of Veseble's bad singing or the complete lack of discipline by a lot of the members (binding clan mates all the time, etc). It's honestly improved since then, which is good. I'm not sure what kept me going. It was probably the motivation of not wanting to join another clan as I didn't want to join RSD (Didn't want to pay for P2P sets) or TT (didn't like their zetaboard forum or their retarded ranks). So I eventually became settled into DF. I'm not sure what made me settle in either.

My first 4 months in DF were rather uneventful; I was accepted as an FA and eventually as a full member. We didn't have the heroic rank, so those who were active never had a different rank to distinguish them from anyone else. As I recall from reading old officials topics, I was nominated for MOTM once in this time frame. After 6 months of being in the clan, I decided to try and get myself noticed, so I started to spam the forums. This resulted in my posting rights being removed for 24 hours by Scorpi and little did I know but the next day I was promoted to Legend. As a Legend I accumulated the most mod actions out of the group by making and remaking stickies, deleting what needed to be deleted and graveyarding old posts. I always tried to give the best foot forward. Little did I know that after a little less than a month I was promoted to AR.

The AR team during this time was quite eventful as we were starting to be more involved with VR in the crash war, which meant a lot of spies. So, it took us hours sometimes trying to find all the information we can about applicants before even thinking about accepting them. It turns out we did let in a few spies, which was fairly unlucky, but thankfully they were caught before getting member. I remember one night in AR chat, I casually mentioned the system TKO has for applications. Crystal liked the idea, so we developed it and created the baseline for what it is today. Crystal was horrible at spelling and grammar, so she asked me to write up the topics for her, so that's what I did.

Then, I received many pokes and nudges about being promoted even higher. After two weeks, I was finally asked the question whether or not I wanted the Council position. Just before a PK Trip, I refresh the page and see several new boards. I also receive an invite to #df.leaders and PMs from Cheyney about many administrative related things. Overall, my time as a Council was quite eventful as it lasted through two crash wars. Unfortunately, I was also the biggest emo faggot to ever exist on the planet Earth which resulted in a lot of butthurt just because someone said the wrong thing which resulted in a lot of emo moments in officials discussion and #df.leaders. I apologise and respect past and current officials for lasting through that phase with me. I would've probably kicked my ass out of the clan a long time ago. Eventually, I decided to leave mostly due to real life, but also due to other members of the clan that decided I didn't belong in the clan anymore. After I rejoined I realized most of my mistakes and fixed them for the most part. I don't honestly give a shit what anyone thinks about me, so if you want to flame me, go right ahead.

P2P:

- Remove the "teleport to corp cave" option from the Games Necklace. Make people ninja their way to corp cave.
- Move the entrance to Godwars somewhere in northeastern wilderness.
- Better drops from the Chaos Elemental.
- Remove Rev Caves completely.
- Add a few extra Green Dragons.

F2P & P2P:

- More mining spots throughout. Add 5-6 more runite + addy mining spots in multizones somewhere around the general warzone.
- Require an amount of risk to hop the wall/teleport into the wilderness.
